Can you replace one panel?
Yes you can. The only thing you will need to bare in mind is colour difference. If your conservatory roof has discoloured over the years due to weathering or just age then putting a brand new panel in (although technically the same colour) can look quite different. In which case we would recommend replacing all of the panels for the sake of continuity, polycarbonate though is a relatively inexpensive so replacing all of the panels if necessary shouldn’t cost too much.
I have condensation in my glass panels can this be repaired?
If you have condensation in your glass panels it means that your sealed units have failed. Unfortunately this will mean that the panel will need replacing entirely.
I have condensation in my polycarbonate roof can this be fixed?
Firstly we would suggest waiting for a warm dry day and taking off the end caps and tape and giving the polycarbonate panel the chance to air the tape everything back up again in the evening try this for a couple of days until the polycarbonate
My conservatory is leaking can you repair it?
We hope so! There can be a number of reasons why a conservatory may be leaking. It maybe that a panel is slightly to short, damaged, or a component could be broken and in which case we would replace either the panel or relative component it maybe that the roof just needs a little sealant and in which case we would be happy to advise. If the roof structure or age is such that a repair would not be a long standing solution we may suggest that you replace the roof. We uphold the highest of standards and would not be prepared to waste you time and money on doing short lived repairs that would need addressing on regular basis.
My wooden roof structure, it is starting to rot and would like to replace the roof what are my options?
There are two possible options when replacing this type of roof. The first is that you arrange for a carpenter to replace the existing wooden roof structure and we could then replace the roof with a rafter bar system which is supported by the wooden structure. The second is to remove the rotten roof structure and replace the roof with a self supporting glazing system which eliminates the need for an existing roof structure. Of course as far as price goes that all depends on the carpenter. A rafter bar system is by far cheaper than a self supporting system however with a self supporting system no carpenter is required.
I would like to change the shape of my conservatory roof is this possible?
We can make a roof in any size or shape you would like but the main constraint is the conservatory footings. To extend or change the base of the conservatory involves costly building work.
I have a relatively new conservatory but would like replace the polycarbonate with glass can I just swap the panels?
Glass is much heavier than polycarbonate so the glazing support system holding the roof up would need to be a lot stronger and therefore replaced. In addition glass is very unforgiving as it cannot be cut down like polycarbonate. It has to be cut exactly to size therefore in this instance we would recommend that you replace the entire roof with a bespoke design manufactured by K2, Ultra Frame, or Quantal. A detailed survey is completed of your existing roof including all sizes and angles the roof is then ordered and made on the factory floor and the glass made to measure. The roof is then taken down and packed up ready for to install it to your conservatory with all drill hole etc pre done for the ultimate in precision.
I understand that blinds are the most effective way of reducing heat in my conservatory is this true?
This is a popular misconception. Blinds are fitted on to the interior of the conservatory roof therefore letting the heat straight in. Our solar reflective solutions reflect up to 80% of the suns heat before it enters your conservatory. Even solar reflective blinds can only reflect up to 60% of the suns heat and of course are only an option for glass roofs as the heat reflection against a polycarbonate roof would cause the plastic to warp.
Conservatory too hot in the summer? Or too cold in the winter?
Polycarbonate conservatory roof
Solar reflective inserts are the best option for a polycarbonate roof. The inserts are installed into the top chamber of the polycarbonate so they are protected from weathering and normally will last the life of your roof. They reflect up to 80% of the suns heat before entering your conservatory and helping insulate in the winter. It cuts glare and prevents 99% of UV rays from entering your conservatory roof which helps protect your skin and help furniture from fading.
Glass Roof
Solar control laminates are used for temperature control on a glass roof. They are normally installed to the inside of the glass to protect the laminate from weathering. They reflect up to 80% of the suns heat before it enters the conservatory and also assist with insulation in the winter. The laminates are available in a range of difference grades, and colours so you can choose exactly what you require.
